Australian Natural Therapists Association

The Australian Natural Therapists Association Limited (ANTA) is the largest national democratic association of ‘recognised professional’ traditional medicine and natural therapy practitioners who work in the areas of health care and preventative medicine.

ANTA was founded in 1955 and represents the multi-disciplinary interests of approximately 5900 accredited practitioners Australia-wide.

Australian Traditional Medicine Society

The Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS) is Australia’s largest professional association of complementary medicine practitioners, representing about 65% of the total complementary medicine profession.

ATMS was founded in 1984 and is the largest professional association of massage therapists, herbalists, naturopaths, homeopaths and nutritionists.

The Bowen Association of Australia was formed in 1998 by a group of qualified Bowen practitioners, instructors and the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia. The Association was founded to give the practitioners formal recognition, and a common voice on Bowen Technique throughout Australia.

The Massage Association of Australia is one of the longest established in the industry. In the early 1980’s the massage profession in Victoria was a rather small and intimate group of practitioners. Inevitably several associations were formed, each one concerned with promoting and maintaining their particular method. Inevitably the urge to “grow” was being felt and mergers took place which triggered off the founding of the M.A.A. Inc.
